Love Triumphs Over Evil

If there is anything that the Harry Potter series has taught me, it’s this.

In the wake of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, I have seen a wide range of people expressing their support, concern, and opinions surrounding the attacks and the groups that initiated them. One tweet, however, really made me think about the situation at hand. Her tweets read;

Between the recent school shootings in America and attacks on innocent lives all around the world, it seems like the easiest thing we can do is live in fear. We can stay at home where we are safe and protected from the outside world, knowing that our lives aren’t being put into immediate danger if we stay behind closed doors. We can stay warm and safe in our beds, watching as life goes on around us.

In times of fear and chaos, this seems like the best option.

However, in the midst of all this fear and uncertainty of our safety in the outside world, what if the bravest thing we can do is live? Not just live, but live passionately. Live Intensely. Live with every fiber within us to make the most out of every day; exuding love and positivity through everything we choose to do. Like how Harry, Ron, and Hermione taught us in Harry Potter; love can defeat evil when it’s strong enough. And love is always strong enough. After all, they defeated Voldemort using spells that were harnessed using positive memories, thoughts, and with intentions to create a better tomorrow.

So live on, live fully, and spread love through all that you do.

My thoughts are with everyone who was affected by the attacks in Paris. A truly horrifying event to see happen to innocent people in the world. Sending all my love to friends, family, and the people of Paris and those who are being affected by the aftermath of this terrible act of violence.
